Holm oak
holm oak
This is a flooded area surrounded by steep banks with very little aquatic vegetation in spite of the notable depth of the water. On the banks there is a wood made up of a mixture of trees including pines, common oaks and holm oaks plus other broad-leaved trees some of them imported.
The archeological site (recently subjected, unfortunately, to a radical preservation attempt at eliminating the Flora present on the remains of the Port) is characterized by its alternating open areas and bushy undergrowth, with numerous pines and clusters of reeds aligning the channels and depressions.
