How to get there

The area is within easy reach from Rome by car, along Cristoforo Colombo Street, which leads directly to the Lido Central Square.

Also, it can be reached by train. Trains leave from MAGLIANA station.

The train to Ostia leaves from platform 3. To get to the train there is a moving staircase with very wide stairs. If you are a wheel-chair user you may reach the Platform with an experienced helper.

If you are travelling alone, in order to avoid the moving  staircase, you should catch the train at TERMINI, proceed to LAURENTINA, which is the end of the line, stay on the train until it heads back and finally get off at MAGLIANA. Thus, the arriving Platform will be opposite the one to Ostia, without any obstacles.

It is possible either to get off at CASTEL FUSANO or CRISTOFORO COLOMBO station.

We advice handicapped people with wheel-chair to get off exclusively at CRISTOFORO COLOMBO station, because it being the terminus, it is possible to cross the tracks passing through the opened doors of standing coaches. In this station it is also possible, by asking the staff employees, to cross the tracks using a ramp at the end of the Platform.

FOR THIS REASON IT IS EXTREMELY USEFUL TO GET ON THE FIRST COACH OF TRAIN, IN ORDER TO CALL THE CHIEF-CONDUCTOR PROMPTLY FOR HELP.

Once you get off the train, you can choose which route to take, following our guide instructions for a walk in the pinewood forest.
